The Olympic village of Sestriere located at 2025m forms part of one of the world’s largest ski areas, The Milky Way. The local ski pass, which interconnects the resorts of Sestriere, Sauze d’Oulx, Sansicario, Cesana and Claviere offering over 200km of pistes will most probably suffice! We offer a good 3* hotel only 100m from the nearest lift. This is a snow sure area which reaches 2800m and is sure to entice the most enthusiastic skier.
The Skiing
Together with the villages of Claviere, Sauze d’Oulx, Cesana and San Sicario in Italy and Montegenevre in France it makes up the awesome Via Lattea (Milky Way) offering 400km of pistes. It regularly hosts downhill events and recently had the honour of being the main venue for the Torino Winter Olympics 2006. Sestriere is a great choice for beginners because there are wide nursery slopes and some long gentle blues which are ideal for snow-ploughers in their quest, while the close by red slopes will prepare them for the longer expeditions, while experts will just ski, ski and ski. At a resort height of 2000m and a summit height of 2900m Sestriere is a snow sure resort right through until late in the season.
Hotel Biancaneve
This traditional alpine style hotel enjoys an excellent position at the foot of the slopes and only a few minutes walk from the ski lifts and resort centre. All the rooms have en-suite bathrooms, hair-dryers, phone, satellite TV and wireless internet connection. Restaurant serves buffet-breakfast and 3 course evening meal and the public areas include a reception, 2 bars, reading and TV room and Sauna.
Hotel Sauze
The Hotel Sauze, was built especially for the 2006 winter Olympics. It is situated in a panoramic and sunny area in the village of Sauze di Cesana, 5km from Sestriere. All rooms have en suite facilities, satellite TV, mini-bar and most have balcony. Public areas include reception, bar, restaurant, recreational room and TV room. A free shuttle running till midnight links the Hotel with the ski-lifts and resort of Sestriere.
Aprés-ski
Sestriere is a modern, large and popular resort, well equipped with a choice of après ski. In resort you have an outdoor ice skating rink, cinema, many pizzerias, bars, restaurants, shops and disco. There is also the opportunity to go snowmobiling, nightskiing and toboganning. The hotel offers a relaxed environment
