60km north of Bergamo in the Alta Val Brembana-Tal region of the Alps lies the purpose built ski resort of Foppolo. Shops, pizzerias, café bars and seven hotels make up the village. A great option for groups who are looking for doorstep skiing with a bit of life around about them.
 
The Skiing
Foppolo is located at 1600m and three of the main lifts connect to many of the immediate blue runs in the area. Over the summit of Quarter Baita and Monte Valgussera at 2200m, both which are connected by lifts from the centre of Foppolo you will encounter many reds and a few challenging blacks which can bring you down to Piazzeca and the village of Carona. For those who wish a challenge closer to home there are a few reds and a fantastic black in the Cornellini area of Foppolo. The area of San Simone is also valid for use with your lift pass. This is connected by ski/shuttle bus and is 10mins drive. A number of reds and a few blue runs are available in the area. Whatever you decide the Foppolo/Carona ski circuit and the close by San Simone offer something for every skier.
 
Hotel Cristallo  
A 2 star hotel in a brilliant location is the best way to describe the Cristallo. It is located directly on the slopes in the centre of the village. There is an excellent public bar/cafeteria, dining room which serves buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner. All rooms have private facilities and generally accommodate up to 4 people per room. There are a few small recreational rooms and an excellent disco.
Aprés-ski
The lively village has a real ski feel to it and offers plenty of après ski opportunities. In the centre a short stroll from the hotel you will find an indoor swimming pool, outdoor ice-skating rink, bumboarding and a couple of discos. There is a lot of recreational space in the hotel for in-house entertainment, such as tv/video nights, quizzes etc and the hotel has its own disco.
