The resort of Artesina, located in Piemonte Region just 2hrs south of Turin is known as a good value one and for having a sizeable ski area. The area covers nearly 100km of easy & intermediate pistes and connects with the area of Prato Nevoso. It is a small purpose built resort similar to many French resorts in the Southern Alps, making it convenient to the slopes. The 3* Hotel Marguareis is a good hotel in an excellent location offering doorstep skiing and close to all shops, restaurants, café bars and other amenities that make this an excellent resort.
The Skiing
The Mondole ski area which connects the resorts of Artesina, Frabosa Soprana and Prato Nevoso is an excellent ski area for beginners and covers about 100km of pistes, many of these are north facing ensuring good snow conditions up until late in the season. Progression is terrific for keen learners and plenty of long, wide runs above the trees, invite ambitious intermediates to work hard and get off that plateau!
Hotel Marguareis 
The Marguareis is a meticulously maintained and modern hotel with excellent facilities and is just a few meters from the slopes. Completely renovated the hotel has 46 rooms of very high quality all en suite, with Sat TV and telephone. The public areas are spacious and well equipped and include bar, restaurant, lounge, gym, sauna and TV room. The ski room is situated just a few seconds stroll from the main village slope and lift.
Aprés-ski
There are a few shops, cafes, restaurants and pizzerias in the virtually traffic free resort allowing students to explore the town in safety. The hotel has large recreational rooms and TV room with DVD and SKY Digital while Ice Skating, night skiing, cinema and the full moon disco can be found in the neighbouring resort of Prato Nevoso.
