The beautiful Austrian resort of Ehrwald is in a fantastic location just 1hr15 north west of Innsbruck, close to the famous Zugspitze Glacier, which borders Bavaria. The 3* Alpenhotel is in a fantastic setting at the foot of the glacier only 20m from the new cable car. It is a superb resort offering guaranteed snow and no less than 195kms of piste. Fantastic for all grades of skier with 35 blue, 31 red & 11 black runs
The Skiing
Your lift pass entitles you to use any of the nine ski areas in the Zugspitze Ski Circuit which totals 195km of piste. The closest area is the snow covered slopes of the Glacier itself with the cable car being located only 50 metres away. Ehrwald ski arena is only 5 minutes by ski bus and from here you are able to ski back to the hotel on a nice long easy blue. The areas of Lermoos, Biberweir & Ehrwalder Alm are all within a 10 minute journey of your hotel. All in all a fantastic ski area for all grades of skiers
The Alpenhotel
The Alpenhotel is a small recently refurbished hotel in a wonderfully picturesque setting literally at the foot of the towering Zugspitze Glacier. It accommodates up to 70 people comfortably in 2, 3 , 4, 5 and 6 bedded rooms. All rooms have private facilities and most have a balcony. A bar, TV room with satellite, dining room and large recreation room offers various après ski possibilities (ie: pool table, baby football table, karaoke machine, video games, board games) particularly for sole occupancy groups.
Aprés-ski
Many après-ski possibilities are available for the group. The 4* hotel across the road offers swimming once a week for a small charge and there is also a superb sports complex in Ehrwald which boasts an indoor tennis and swimming pool. Local discos, outdoor ice-rink, tobogganing and ski show can also be found in Ehrwald or surroundings. Bowling in Garmish (25 km) can also be organised on request.
