Ireland's U18 girls took on Scotland earlier today, due to a change of schedule, in their opening four nations match in Cardiff.

Scotland secured the only two goals of the match within the first ten minutes of play courtesy of their well practised penalty corner routine.

Overall, Scotland looked the stronger side, but despite the pressure Ireland had numerous chances to reduce the deficit through both open play and penalty corner chances, but the final touch managed evade the girls in green. Despite taking the early lead Scotland were not content to sit back and continued to put pressure on Ireland, but good defending and excellent keeping from Lisa Costley kept Ireland in the game towards the end.

Commenting on the game manager Sinead McDonnell "We came into the game more for the last 35, they were the stronger side overall but Ireland displayed some good performances, including some excellent play by Keeper Lisa Costley."
