Sunderland boss Roy Keane was given a rousing reception at the club where it all began for the Cork native as Cobh ramblers played at the Black Cats in a friendly match at Turners Cross last night. The Premier League side continued their pre-season preparations with a comfortable win with goals from Irish forwards Daryl Murphy, Anthony Stokes and ex-Cork City man Roy O'Donovan completing a 4-0 victory over their eircom League oufit.
Meanwhile, Keane has signed controversial Bolton forward El-Hadji Diouf for an undisclosed fee. The 27 years old Senegal international has agreed a four year deal with the Black Cats. But despite his chequered past, Keane has no qualms about signing the player. "El-Hadji is a great signing for us and we're thrilled to get him" Keane said.
