New boss Giovanni Trapattoni will run the rule over Ireland's young talent in Portugal next week.

 The start of the World Cup qualifying campaign in September will see seven uncapped players in the squad.  Trapattoni stated; "I am taking 20 players to Portugal and many of them will be young-that is good".

He is also confident that Steve Finnan, Stephen Ireland and Andy O'Brien will play international football again.

Robbie Keane will miss the training camp in the Algarve next week as he is getting married.
